Melissa Valo is an artist, author, energy worker, QHHT® Practitioner, and lifelong spiritual seeker. Through her work at Valo Expeditions, she offers others a space to explore the deeper aspects of self. Her practice blends science, sound/vibration, spirit, and storytelling into an evolving landscape of healing and awakening.
Melissa’s path into energy work and consciousness exploration was anything but linear. For decades, she struggled with her mental health, cycling through various diagnoses—clinical depression, anxiety, bulimia, agoraphobia, and eventually, complex PTSD. Therapy and medication offered moments of stability, but lasting healing remained elusive. Her inner world often felt like a roller coaster: unpredictable, overwhelming, and unbearably heavy. At 19 years old she attempted suicide. She survived—but the joy of living felt out of reach.
Despite being a devoted mother, wife, and friend, Melissa carried a persistent emptiness that no amount of external input seemed to fill. She turned to substances to numb her nervous system, unknowingly recreating the trauma cycles that had shaped her from childhood. The deep question that haunted her—What’s the point of all this suffering?
