Some experiences stay with you because they were enjoyable, and then there are experiences that feel truly life-shifting. My recent week at Arthur Findlay College in Stansted, UK, was one of the latter. Whew, what a shift!
Before I even get into the course itself, it is worth saying a little about the college. Arthur Findlay College, located at Stansted Hall, is a place with a long history tied to the study of mediumship, spiritual development, and healing. There is a deep sense of history there, and you can feel that the moment you arrive. The setting itself feels supportive of the work, with its beautiful gardens, quiet spaces, and the unmistakable energy of a place where so many people have come to learn, grow, and connect. There is something about the grounds, the buildings, and the atmosphere that makes you slow down and pay attention. It honestly feels like going to a real world Hogwarts😂, absolutely magical!

The course itself was absolutely amazing.
The title of the course “Pure Mediumship” really speaks to the heart of what we were there to explore. This was not about performance or perfection. It was about learning to get out of our own way, to trust the link, strengthen our connection with spirit, and allow mediumship to unfold with greater clarity, confidence, and authenticity. It was a week full of growth, challenge, encouragement, and meaningful breakthroughs.
That sounds simple, but anyone who has done this work knows it is not always easy. There is vulnerability in mediumship. There is trust involved. There is the constant invitation to move beyond fear, doubt, and overthinking. This week gave me the chance to sit right in the middle of all of that and keep going anyway. It stretched me in the best ways.
A huge part of what made the week so special was our incredible tutor, Debra Chalmers. Debra brought such depth, wisdom, and presence to the course, and she created an environment that felt both inspiring and safe. I could not have asked for a better teacher! She has a way of teaching that encourages you to stretch while also helping you feel supported in the process. Her guidance helped make the learning feel grounded, accessible, and deeply impactful. I came away with so much respect and gratitude for her, not only for her skill as a teacher, but for the way she held space for all of us as we developed.
We learned a tremendous amount in a short period of time. Intensive is definitely the right word. There were moments that felt exciting, moments that felt emotional, and moments that reminded me just how much mediumship asks of us, not only technically, but personally and spiritually. By the end of the week, I could feel that something in me had shifted, strengthened. I came away with a much more substantial foundation for my practice of mediumship. That alone would have made the trip worthwhile.
What made the experience even more extraordinary, though, was the people.

One of the most beautiful parts of the week was meeting fellow students from all over the world. There is something special about coming together with people from different countries, backgrounds, and life experiences, all united by a shared desire to go deeper. By the end of the week, these were no longer just classmates. They had become family. There was such a sense of connection, support, and genuine warmth among our group. We were learning together, taking risks, laughing/singing/dancing, and moving through those vulnerable moments that naturally arise when you are doing this kind of heart-centered spiritual work. I left not only with new skills and deeper confidence, but also with friendships that I am sure will last a lifetime.
That, to me, is part of what made the week so unforgettable. Yes, I learned techniques. Yes, I practiced, stretched, and strengthened my understanding of mediumship. Yet there was also this beautiful human side to it all, the reminder that this path is not meant to be walked alone, and that community matters. Being surrounded by others who understand the pull of this work, and who are also trying to grow in trust and integrity, was deeply affirming.
I also left with a renewed respect for mediumship itself. The week reminded me that this work asks for presence, humility, trust, and a willingness to keep learning. It is not about forcing anything, it is about surrender. It is about building the relationship, strengthening the foundation, and continuing to show up with sincerity. That is something I feel even more committed to now.
I am incredibly grateful for the entire experience, for the teachings, for the practice, for the environment, for Debra’s guidance, and for the friendships that came out of it. It was one of those rare weeks that fills you up on every level. I returned home inspired, more grounded in my path, and excited for what comes next. There are some weeks in life that leave a clear imprint on your heart. This was one of them. I am deeply grateful for the experience, for the college itself, for Debra’s guidance, for all that I learned, and for the beautiful new friends I made along the way. It was an absolutely amazing week, and I know it will continue to shape my mediumship practice for a long time to come.
The week I spent at Arthur Findlay College gave me more than education. It gave me confirmation. It reminded me why I am drawn to this work in the first place, and it helped deepen the roots of my own practice in a very real way. I will carry the experience with me for a long time💗. If you are interested in expanding your spiritual horizons- I can not recommend Arthur Findlay enough!
