This painting holds a deeply personal meaning for me. I created it while spending time with my father during the final days of his life. Green was his favorite color , so I incorporated it throughout the stained-glass-inspired background as a quiet tribute to him.
The skull represents the physical nature of our existence, while the colorful heart symbolizes the love that remains long after we are (physically) gone. The fragmented background reminds me of memories, each piece contributing to the beautiful, complex picture of a life.
The original painting hangs in my office, where it serves as a personal memorial to my father. While the original will remain with me, I wanted to make prints available to others who may connect with its message of love, loss, and the enduring bonds we share with those who have passed.
