I’m embarking on a new adventure—starting this Saturday, I’ll be gifting some of my original artwork to my TikTok followers. I absolutely love the act of creating but semi detest selling it… as an artist it’s quite the conundrum lol. As I spent time over the weekend trying to capture decent photos for Etsy listings I found myself frustrated to tears once again over the time and energy selling artwork entails.
If you are not an artist who sells their work you may not know the nightmare of the art sale world and I am glad for you! As I sat there in tears trying to figure out why I felt so strongly, I asked my guides for input. “I really hate this,” I said between sniffles… “I wish I could just give my work away!” Something I have said so many times over the years, when that little voice spoke and it dawned on me- why can’t I? What’s stopping me? I have piles of my creations in my office- half of which isn’t even listed because I dislike the process so much! My digital art pays the bills. The art I share here and on my TikTok channel… I create from my spirit and I would love to simply share it to others. In that moment of revelation, I decided to stop struggling to sell my art. I realized this was the answer- that I would no longer have to deal with selling *anything* and a huge weight lifted. This just felt right.
